About BioAware

Mission

The mission of BioAware and of its employees is to understand the needs of our prospects, translate them into superior products, deliver them with the agreed specifications as well as in the expected budget and time, and build such a long-term relationship with our customers that the development of our software supports their quest for quality and growth.

Delivering results through innovative, superior and quality products remains our number one priority. Looking forward BioAware intends to be reactive and to anticipate technological trends in this biological fast moving environment. To do this, we have built strong partnerships with worldwide leading scientific academies and organizations. We are actively collaborating with them, sharing expertise and expressing requirements in order to keep our products on the forefront of biological information technology.

Short History

The seeds of BioAware were sown almost 15 years ago when Dr. Vincent Robert wanted to identify yeasts isolated from the African tropical forest and found it impossible using dichotomic keys. He than developed some basic software solutions to solve his problems. The first projects were realized in an academic context. But the demand for biological resource management software was so important that the settlement of a private structure was the next logical step. BioAware was established in July 2000 as a spin-off of the Centraalbureau voor Schimmelcultures (an institute of the Royal Academy of Sciences in The Netherlands) but was registered in Belgium under the form of a limited company. Dr. Vincent Robert and Baudouin Moenaert were the two co-founders of the company.
