With regards to the licensing. Can you clarify what a license covers? Is a license required per PC? Or per every individual user that adds and manipulates data? ie is the license user specific, or can an organisation have 2 licenses for general use, which would cover 2 concurrent users which may be from a group of 6-10 people who need to add and access the data?
If additional licenses are required in the future will it be possible to purchase these? If the software is installed on to the server, will IT be able to install BioloMICS onto additional PCs in the future? Would there be a cost involved?
Response:
In BioloMICS, the number of users that can work with the database is not limited. It means that 2000 people (an example) can be registered in a given DB and view, change and/or analyse the data. However, if a lab has only 2 licenses (on two different laptops for example), then only two users will be able to work with the software at the same time. A license is needed as soon as you start the software. No matter what you are doing with it.
Of course more licenses could be acquired in the future and IT people could install the software themselves on new computers. This is explained in the BioloMICS manual
